Desire and will

The performance is an original project by Gregor Prah and Tine Špik. The protagonists, if we may call them that, have found shelter in a confined space where they have been hiding for a long time. A space where the passage of time has come to a halt, making hope for death—which never arrives—the only tangible thing. The performance is a collage of various, at times opposing and seemingly unrelated scenes that together create a coherent artistic act, opening up a specific perspective on the theme of death, and consequently, of life as well. The medium of puppetry, with elaborately crafted puppets and object theatre, occupies the central place within the performance.
The production intertwines multiple worlds, from fairy tales to real personal memories, philosophical approaches, historical events, past perceptions, as well as political, social, and societal issues. At its core, it is an exploration of a broad range of themes surrounding the concept of death, serving as a commentary on the current world and as a contrast to humanity’s pursuit of higher meaning and the significance of human life.
